About Me

Having roots from the beautiful island of Inishturk, Co. Mayo I came to Inishbofin from the UK as a teenager, to work during the summer at the then Days Hotel, for my half aunt.

A million miles from where I grey up in the heart of the UK I felt I had found Shangri-La !

Still enchanted with the Island I returned to Inishbofin in 2002 and worked full time for the corporate world, remotely from my home here, up until the downturn a few years ago.

At that stage I felt the time was right to establish a craft studio for authentic handcrafted items made on the island, and made a decision to endeavour to live an authentic ‘creative’ life on the Island, taking the leap onto the creative path full time.

And there my journey began ….

So diverse and rich in colour and textures the Atlantic Ocean, and its inhabitants, gives me plenty of inspiration! I have been naturally drawn, therefore, to developing a marine based theme in keeping with my surroundings.

Up until 2013 my work was only available from my island studio, however, January 2013 saw the launch of the best of my products at Showcase Ireland 2013, and I am now starting to sell my products to retailers on the mainland.

Spring 2013 also saw the launch of a series of creative and inspirational workshops in Pottery/Ceramics, Screenprinting & Fused Glass.

2014 marked my first attendance as exhibitor/seller at the National Craft & Design Fair at the RDS, Dublin. A great fair, on so many levels.

I hope to launch my online shop during the spring/summer 2015.

Thanks for visiting my site, and supporting a small cottage industry, and if you want to keep updated on my studio & the islands comings and goings then by all means please sign up to my blog .
